Ford is helping thousands of customers save time and keep their hands clean at the fuel pump.
The Easy Fuel™ capless fuel-filler system is a Ford-exclusive feature that uses an integrated spring-loaded flapper door to eliminate the need for a fuel tank screw cap. That means no more fumbling to remove and tighten the cap and less fuel odor on customers’ hands or gloves when they’re at the pump.
These are just two of the reasons behind Ford’s decision to offer Easy Fuel as standard equipment across the Ford, Lincoln and Mercury product lineups, according to Pamela Wylie, Ford technology planning manager. Easy Fuel launched on the 2008 Ford Explorer and Mercury Mountaineer and will be joined by the all-new 2009 Ford Flex, Ford F-150 and Lincoln MKS this summer. (more…)
David Ragan, driver of the No. 6 AAA Ford Fusion, is 12th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup standings going into this weekend’s Coca-Cola 600. He held a Q&A session Friday morning to discuss the challenges Lowe’s Motor Speedway presents in the longest race of the season.
DAVID RAGAN – No. 6 AAA Ford Fusion – WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE STRATEGY FOR SUNDAY? “Obviously starting during the day and ending at night, you’re probably gonna see some cars dominate early and not be so good late, and then some cars that are pretty average the first part be really good toward the end, so you’ll see some different people up front, I think.

The new 2008 Shelby GT500KR is a performance car that knows how to manage pressure, thanks to carbon fiber components that do more than just look fast. The new GT500 “King of the Road” features the first carbon fiber hood for Ford or Shelby. The carbon fiber hood is a sculpted work of art, with the right science under its skin to deliver a real performance impact.
“This is our first-ever production application of carbon fiber, and it is fitting that we developed it with Shelby Automobiles,” said Ford SVT chief program engineer Jamal Hameedi. “It’s there purely for performance. It brings important aerodynamic and weight-reduction benefits that translate into enhanced performance for our new King of the Road.” (more…)

Indiana State Police officials recently purchased 18 2008 Ford Mustangs, and what better way to break them in than by hitting the road course at O’Reilly Raceway Park?
ISP Sgt. Rich Myers said the department used Ford Mustangs in the 1980s for traffic patrol, but then switched to Chevrolet Camaros. When Chevrolet stopped making Camaros, he said the ISP began using their Crown Victoria patrol cars for enforcement details before deciding to switch back to Mustangs.

Ford has developed a new feature which could mean safer and more comfortable motoring at the flick of a switch – adjustable pedals.
For some drivers, adjusting just seat and steering wheel does not achieve the comfort or level of control for safe and enjoyable driving.
Adjustable pedals can provide Ford Focus and C-MAX owners with a perfectly tailored driving position. Pedals can be moved up to 55mm closer to the seat.
This adjustment improves comfort and control for drivers who find that the pedals are too far away when seat and steering wheel are ideally set. (more…)

May 14, 2008 - When customers take their new Ford Flex for its first spin this summer, they may be surprised by what’s missing: the noise.
Flex delivers a quieter ride than competitors including the Acura MDX, Toyota Highlander and GMC Acadia, according to Ford tests. That’s good news for customers, who tend to directly relate a vehicle’s quietness with its quality, says Derrick Kuzak, Ford’s group vice president of Global Product Development. ”Quietness is a very good proxy for quality in a vehicle.” (more…)

Dont know how many of you have seen this so I thought it was pretty interesting….

If driving a concept car is silly, writing a review of a concept car is like showing up at a black-tie wedding at the Ritz wearing clown shoes, red nose and a Bozo wig. Therefore if you’re reading this review to help you decide between buying any next-gen pony cars, whether the Camaro, the Challenger or the Mustang when they all hit the showroom floor in the next year and a half — just stop reading right now. Seriously, just look at the 28 brand-spanking-new pictures of the drop-top below taken courtesy of our very own Mike Bumbeck. Then I want you to go on to the next post, because a write-up of time spent behind the wheel of a car designed entirely for show and never for go will help you in no way to make a purchasing decision. If you’re interested in reading about driving a car that could fall apart at any moment, and which you may never get to experience (more…)

DEARBORN, Mich., May, 10, 2008 – When Ford Mustang business manager Jackie DiMarco was working on the development of the “Warriors in Pink” package for the 2008 Mustang, which was designed to raise money for breast cancer education and research, she had no idea that the project would hit so close to home.
“We were ready to roll with the ‘Warriors in Pink’ program in the fall of 2006, and in February of 2007, I discovered a lump in my breast that turned out to be malignant,” said DiMarco, who shares her story on Sunday’s NBC’s “Today” show. “I have always supported Ford’s efforts with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, but despite the staggering statistics associated with breast cancer, you never think it’s going to happen to you.” (more…)
